Author Guidelines

As established by the Commissione per le Biblioteche e l’University Press, Urbino University Press publishes only monographic material related to series.

Authors should specify the relevant series when submitting a publication proposal, along with the subject and publication characteristics.

The proposal form and manuscript text should be sent via email to the Scientific Editorial Committee of the series, which will assess the relevance and compliance with the required scientific criteria.

The director of each series will ensure that authors have signed the publication agreement with Urbino University Press.

Publication Request

Please send the publication proposal form indicating:

  • A brief description of the work
  • Biographical notes about the author or authors (max. 3 lines)
  • Table of contents (e.g., provisional index)
  • If it is a conference proceedings, indicate the sponsoring organization
  • Estimated number of pages
  • Any illustrations
  • Indicative date for material submission
  • Any issues related to the volume’s production

The guidelines for text editing are available on the series websites: each author must adhere to the guidelines of the chosen series for publication.

General rules for technical and layout purposes (applicable to all series):

Tables should not be submitted as images or PDFs; instead, they should be set up as editable tables in the .docx, .odt, and .rtf document and must be clear, organized, and legible.

It should be possible to copy and paste data: format should make hierarchies and information organization clear. Using bold for titles and regular text for regular content is advisable.

Graphs can be of any type, depending on their functionality to the contained data. They must be clear, legible, and designed according to a recognized standard, such as bar charts, pie charts, etc. Graphs should consist of different colors and shades to ensure readability. Graphs can be submitted as high-resolution images (JPEG or PNG) at 300 dpi or as vector files (AI, PDF openable with AI, EPS, or SVG).

- If submitted as an image, it will be inserted into the layout without modifications.

- If submitted as a vector file, it may be possible to adjust colors and fonts to better fit the layout visually.

Images: In general, images should be submitted at 300 dpi in CMYK for print purposes.

ISBN Codes

Each volume in the series will be assigned an ISBN code. The request and procedures for assigning codes will be handled by the  UUPsupport  Staff
